Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well and staying safe. This is my first challenge for the Creative Crafting Uncles! I hope you enjoy this card.
This challenge is steampunk. When I first saw this challenge I cringed. I am not known for my multimedia skills or art skills. I did remember that I had a stamp set that I may be able to use to make it.
Hi everyone! It is Ricky and I am on the blog and I am here to show this lovely card I made using Mari Party! Make sure you head over to my YouTube channel to watch all the details and the card making in action.

This card is full of Copic coloring! Oh, It just took 25 markers to complete it!
Stamp out images in a Copic friendly ink such as Memento Black Tuxedo.
Using a stencil ink blend clouds onto the card (this can be created using paper and scissors on a think card stock, then cutting out the cloud pattern and using it as a stencil)
Pull out all your best Copic marker colors and color in the images.
Take a spool of whatever thread you’d like to use for the balloon knots.
Adhere the strips with double-sided adhesive.
Place 3M foam tape or any dimensional you choose to adhere to the stamped images.
Place pieces along the panel to fit.
Glue panel onto black card stock to be used as a matte.
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great week so far!
This week I am using the stamp set Love Wins. Please make sure you head over to my YouTube Channel where I made a video showing how I made this card.

This is a super simple card that can be made with leftover scraps. I dug through all my scraps to find a rainbow order of solid and design paper. I cut them into different sized strips. The solid eggplant piece is cut big enough to fit the sentiment. Then all you do is glue down the strips, stamp out the heart air ballons with some black ink, and then fussy cut them out.
Heat emboss the sentiment on the eggplant-colored cardstock, which is also from the same stamp set. Take a few pieces of foam adhesive and pop the balloons on the card. Now back that with a black piece of cardstock as a matte and then glue that onto the card base. And this is what you are left with!
For some added excitement, adding a few jewels or sequins to give it a little extra sparkle would also be nice on this card. I chose to be simple.
Thank you again for stopping by and please visit inkroadstamps.com and tell them Ricky sent you by using discount code Ricky10 when you check out. You’ll get ten percent off your order!
Hi everyone! Today’s card is inspired by my friend Lori’s blog hop she is having from February 1st through February 7th. Please make sure you visit her page and any other creator’s page to see what was created for this great cause.
Some facts about Turner Syndrome:
Turner syndrome, a condition that affects only females, results when one of the X chromosomes (sex chromosomes) is missing or partially missing. Turner syndrome can cause a variety of medical and developmental problems, including short height, failure of the ovaries to develop and heart defects.
Turner syndrome (TS) affects approximately 1 out of every 2,000 girls in the US
Turner syndrome was first discovered in 1938 by Dr. Henry Turner while studying a group of seven girls who all had the same unusual developmental and physical features.
People with Turner syndrome have abnormally short stature—the average height of a person with TS is 4 ft 8 in.
Other distinctive physical features of TS include low-set ears, webbed neck (excess skin on the neck), scoliosis, and fingernails and toenails that turn upward.
Turner syndrome is caused by a defect of the second female sex chromosome.
Researchers believe TS is not an inherited condition. Also, they know that parents do not cause—and cannot prevent—Turner syndrome in their daughters.
You can be diagnosed with TS at any age. It doesn’t matter when you’re diagnosed, the test used to determine Turner syndrome is the same—a karyotype. A karyotype is a blood test that produces an image of your chromosomes.
People with Turner syndrome are at a higher risk of developing other medical problems, including heart and kidney abnormalities, hypothyroidism, and ear infections.
It’s rare for a woman with Turner syndrome to naturally conceive a child. Fortunately, there are many fertility treatments available to help a woman with TS have a baby
There is no cure for TS, but human growth hormone and estrogen replacement therapy will help manage it.
Now onto the card!
Instead of doing a step by step on my blog, I have uploaded a video on how I made this card:

Hello everyone! First off, I would like to say thank you for stopping by!
The holiday season is around the corner, and I would like to do something special for my friend Sarah Lauch. You see, she runs a non-profit organization called Live Like Roo. Please visit the website to learn about their stories. I have summarized it below. Also, you will find precisely what I would like to do for Sarah down there as well. KEEP SCROLLING 🙂 There is a prize to win as well!
Sarah rescued a dog named Roosevelt from the Chicago Animal Care and Control shelter. He was having some medical issues, and his family brought him to the animal shelter because of it. Because of his condition, he was set to be euthanized. Sarah saw Roosevelt and knew he didn’t belong there. She scooped him up to save him.
PS- Here is a video of Roo’s journey. Here is also a video of people who have been helped by Sarah’s organization.
Sarah and Roosevelt at the Chicago Animal Care and Control
After rescuing him with the help with One Tail At A Time, she took him to the vet where it was discovered his teeth had been broken due to chewing rocks or trying to escape a crate, but also he had bone cancer. Sarah was so upset but didn’t let it defeat her. She made a bucket list for Roo and started checking things off.
Unbeknownst to her, Roo’s story would go viral, and people poured in with donations and started to inquire how he was doing. Unfortunately, Roo passed away and Sarah decided to start a non-profit in his honor.
Sarah sends care packages all across the United States to dogs and their human families that have been diagnosed with cancer. Not all cases lead to death. Sarah and her organization also assist in medical bills, as well. She is a fantastic person, and I would like to make her world a lot easier.
With the help of card makers all around the world, I want to do a greeting card drive for Sarah. She sends a card with every box, and my idea is to get as many handmade cards to her so that she does not have to spend quality money on cards.
The cards should animal-themed (but not necessary). The cards should say things like “I hope you get well soon,” “feel better,” or any words of encouragement for anyone going through a hard time (animal sickness). If you would like you could also send in Thank You cards as she needs those as well!
Please be sure to send an envelopes with your cards as well!
I am teaming up with Jennifer McGuire (one of our paper crafting queens) who loves animals and loves making handmade kindness to get the drive going. I just know these types of things are her jam 🙂 She is providing ten Handmade Kind packages along with a box full of crafty goodness!
The drive will run from November 14th to December 15th. BECAUSE OF THE SUCCESS OF THE CARD DRIVE THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN PUSHED TO DECEMBER 31, 2019.
Please send your cards (any size) with envelopes included to the following address:
Ricky Burton-Romero – 7003 N Wolcott Ave #1, Chicago IL 60626
After December 31st, I will plan to make a trip to Sarah and present her with all the cards on an Instagram live! You will be able to see the happiness you bring to her life through these cards! I will be sure to share it with everyone on Instagram before it happens.
Please be sure to include your contact information with the cards so that when the prize draw happens, I know where to send emails to!
After we get the cards over to Sarah, anyone that donated cards to the cause will be entered to win one of two $50 gift cards to any online craft store you choose (if they have a gift card option). It could also be Amazon as well! Good luck! I will have this drawing on Instagram live as well! Also, people outside the US are eligible as well! I am sure Sarah would love to see that Live Like Roo has spread to other countries as well! Please join me during this giving time of year, and let’s get as many cards as possible for Sarah.
Prizes have been updated!
Jennifer McGuire – 10 Handmade Kindness packages and a chance at a huge box of craft supplies worth $200.
Studio Katia – A $50 gift card to their online store.
MakeitbyMarko on Instagram – Four sets of their 3D printed craft tools. Glue holder, stamp shammy ETC.
If you have any questions you can email me at bromerocards@gmail.com. Please place Live Like Roo in the title so that I know it is not spam. You can also reach out to me via Instagram by searching for BromeroCards!
Hi everyone! I hope you have had a great week! Wow, the weather really turned for cold here in Chicago. One day it was 75 degrees and the next day it was 34 degrees. I guess winter is here until around April or so.
This week’s challenge colors. Orange, red, and brown. All colors of fall of course. I decided to bring out some of my alcohol inks and yupo paper. I put plenty of ink of each color on the yupo paper.
I then took a solid leaf die from Concord & 9th and cut it out of the alcohol ink background. I then took a few sentiments from Concord & 9th and die cut them. I glued them to the top of the leaf.
I then took a Sizzix 3D embossing folder that contained leaves and ran that through my Big Shot (I tried through my Gemini Jr, but I still can’t figure out how that works). I cut that down to 4 x 5.25. I then took an orange piece of paper and made a matte for it. I then glued that onto a Neenah Solar White 110lb card base.
I added some 3M foam tape to the back of the leaf and propped it up on the card.
I hope you enjoy this challenge and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
On this card, I was inspired by the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. I used a background stencil and used Tim Holtz Scattered Straw (wow this card is meta) and did some ink blending stenciling on white card stock.
I then stamped out the image using some Copic friendly black ink. I placed some 3M Foam tape behind him to pop him off the card. I cut the card base down to 4 x 5.25. Then I used black cardstock as a matte to go behind it. I then glued the card panel down to the card base which is 110lb Neenah Solar White.
I added a few stones that I had in my stash to give it a little bling and stamped the sentiment in Versafine black ink.
I hope you enjoyed this card and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Hi everyone! I hope you have had some fun making up projects for the last challenge! Congrats to the winner!
This time we are going with Halloween!
This week’s challenge is Halloween!
I had the luxury of going to California to spend time with fellow design team member Melinda. We went to craft camp and made cards all weekend long! We actually made our challenge cards during this craft camp and it was such fun!
And here is the card I made:
The image used in this card is by My Favorite Things. They were Copic colored. I spread some black paste along a bat stencil to create the background. The card base is 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. All items on the card and propped up with 3M foam tape.
I hope you enjoy this week’s card and I look forward to seeing what you create for Halloween!
Wow, it has been forever and a day since I have designed for the Stamp, Ink, Paper team. I have been in graduate school for the last two years and I have finally graduated. It has been a journey for sure and my cardmaking time is ready to go back into full force.
This week challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper is Designers Choice. I used a stamp set by Unity Stamp Co. It is called Love To Go. Instead of giving you a step by step on this entry I made a YouTube video instead! Please enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this card and I can’t wait to see what you create!
Hello everyone! I hope you have had a great week so far! Today I am showing off a card I made using the Inkon3 Dogwood Stamp. I was born and raised in the mountains of Virginia and the dogwood is our state flower. They are always so beautiful when they bloom and whenever I see one, I start to miss home.
I inked up this stamp with Inkon3’s Blackout Ink on some Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. I then took some Copic Markers (C00, C01, and C02) and used the flicking technique to blend in the colors together. I then used RV001 to do the tips of the flower petals.
Notice how subtle the dogwood is colored with Copic Markers.
I then used some green Copic Markers for the leaves (sorry I don’t remember the codes for them, but any green would work.)
I stamped the sentiment on Inkon3’s Blackout Ink. I used a small square die to cut it out and then trimmed some black cardstock to make a border around it.
The photo does not do it justice, but the glitter card stock between the two layers is magical.
The card base is made using Birchpress Designs Delfina cover plate die. Plate A and Plate C were cut with Neenah Solar White and Plate B was cut using some white glitter paper I had in my stash (I think it was Simon Says Stamp)
This truly could be used as a wedding card if you removed the sentiment. You could put a wedding sentiment or just leave it plain with just the flowers.
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my card! You can see more creations over on my Instagram by searching for Bromerocards. Have a great rest of the summer and I will be back soon!
